New York, Dec. 19, 2005 - The Dana Foundation, a New York City-based philanthropic organization, selected Quadrant Communications Co., Inc., to design and produce Partnering Arts Education: A Working Model from ArtsConnection. The publication details the importance of classroom teachers and artists forming partnerships as they build successful residencies in schools. Partnering Arts Education provides insight and concrete steps in using the ArtsConnection model.

The 64-page publication consists of seven chapters, with an introduction by Steve Seidel, Ed.D., director of the Arts in Education program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Project Zero.

There is a teachers' guide and a chapter from Rob Horowitz, Ed.D., associate director of the Center for Arts Education Research at Teachers College, Columbia University, discussing a seven-year study to discern areas of development, supported by arts learning within cognitive, social, and personal domains.

The Dana Foundation, headed by New York Times columnist and political commentator William Safire, is a private philanthropic foundation with principal interests in science, health, and education. Charles A. Dana, a New York State legislator, industrialist, and philanthropist, founded what is today the Dana Corporation. He was president of the Dana Foundation from 1950 to 1966 and actively shaped its programs and principles until his death in 1975.
