Quadrant Communications Helps The Fund for Modern Courts Celebrate 50 Years of Court Reform in New York State

PIERS Global Intelligence Solutions Selects Quadrant Communications to Design and Produce Quarterly Online Newsletter

New York, Nov. 3, 2004 - Quadrant Communications announced today that it will design and produce commemorative exhibit panels and a brochure to help the Fund for Modern Courts (the Fund) celebrate its 50 years of improving the administration of justice in the New York State court system. The Fund will use the commemorative items at its 50th anniversary events throughout the state. The first event was held Nov. 10 at the Penn Club of New York. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was the featured speaker.

Quadrant will design the exhibit and brochure to highlight the Fund's history and its milestone achievements. Among those featured in the historical review will be Cyrus R. Vance, former U.S. Secretary of State, who later became the Fund's chairman; several New York State Court of Appeals justices, including current Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye; and other prominent New York judges, attorneys, law school deans and academics, and business leaders. Quadrant works with Dennigan Associates, a Brooklyn-based editorial services firm that provides content.

The Fund for Modern Courts is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Founded in 1955, the Fund works to make the court system more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly for all New Yorkers.

For the last 45 years, the cornerstone of its efforts has been the need to change New York's method of selecting judges. The Fund has tried to remove the influence of money and politics from the judge-selection process by encouraging merit selection. In 1998, the Fund created a Task Force on Judicial Campaign Finance Reform, which seeks to improve the existing elective system.

In 1975, the Fund also created the nation's first Citizen Court Monitoring program. Currently active in 16 counties across the state, the Fund's volunteer monitors evaluate New York's courts from the perspective of ordinary citizens.

Established in 1984, Quadrant Communications is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a Manhattan-based strategic marketing communications firm. Quadrant's clients include AT&T, Citigroup Private Bank, The Dana Foundation, The Federal Reserve, Lucent Technologies, JP Morgan Chase, PIERS/Commonwealth Business Media, Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation and The Washington Post Companies, among others. Quadrant offers strategic communications consulting, editorial services, graphic design and interactive media services and support.
